It’s impossible if you missed the fall event it seems, you don’t get enough vitality to do so before the cap. Candy is now only used to upgrade the Hermit Crab, which now functions like the Coralite. Upgrading the crab with candy will produce more “Halloween Vitality” which is spent on Halloween fish. Complete the tasks to unlock “coral”, cosmetic vitality producing items .
Everything in a “tank” event is self contained, there’s pretty much nothing “missable” you just have to watch ads/spend pearls to play them out of season is all. Nothing really to do but watch ads and quests (which you’ve probably run out of) unfortunately. It’s why I’ve finished none of the tank events since they’ve raised the crab levels.
